Skincare can be so frustrating when you have dry, sensitive skin! You have to take care of your skin daily to keep it from getting it overly dry, but skincare products can irritate your skin. I've struggled with this problem my entire life. Today, I'm going to share with you some gentle skincare products that are great for dry skin, so that you can have the skin you've always dreamed of!
Removing your Makeup
The first step in any good skincare routine is removing your makeup! I've got two go to products for this!
The first is Biore micellar water with activated charcoal! It removes makeup as the charcoal penetrates deeper into the pores than most micellar waters to remove more makeup. One of the best things about this product is that it's super affordable! I also love having control over the amount of product I use. Instead of using an entire makeup wipe even for a very small amount of makeup, I can just put a little micellar water on a cotton round!
Makeup wipes may have their drawbacks, but they are super convenient! Unfortunately, many of them can have really harsh soaps in this. Neutrogena makeup wipes are very gentle, and remove your makeup without any irritation to the skin! You can even use them to remove eye makeup!
Washing your Face
I've used the same face wash for years! I've never had any irritation from it, and unlike many cleansers for sensitive skin, it does a great job preventing acne! This whole Botanical Effects line from Mary Kay is great for your skin!
Exfoliation
Exfoliation is amazing for your skin, but exfoliants can be really hard on your skin! Burt's Bees Deep Pore Scrub removes dirt, oil and dead skin cells from your face without leaving redness, swelling, micro cuts, or burns.
Toning
Toners often have a chemical feel that can irritate your skin, but they can do wonders for your complexion if you find a good one for you! This toner is very gentle and does a wonderful job evening out your skin tone!
Moisturizing
Anyone with dry skin knows that moisturizing is probably the single most important part of your skincare routine. That's why I have three separate products to get the job done!
My daily moisturizer is hydrating but also thin and light weight. It's light enough to go under my makeup without any problems. Or I can wear it on it's own and not have any oily residue on my face! I use this Mary Kay moisturizer at least twice a day (when I don't substitute in one of the next two products.)
This overnight mask from Origins is probably the best product I've ever found for my skin in my entire life! I use it once a week on average, sometimes more when my skin is especially dry. I put a generous amount on my face, put a towel over my pillow, go to bed, and wake up with super soft skin! I definitely wouldn't recommend applying this before applying makeup, because it is very thick, but after a night with mask you're skin will look so flawless you probably won't even need makeup!
The last product I have to recommend today is a straight up vitamin oil! If your skin is acne prone, you may want to skip this one. Once every two weeks (minimum!) I apply a few drops of Vitamin E oil to my face before bed. Vitamin E oil is great for hydrating and tightening skin as well as healing scars over time. This stuff will definitely heal your dry skin, but it's super important to thoroughly scrub your face the next morning so that the oil doesn't clog your pores and cause acne!
Conclusion
I hope these products help you in the fight against dry, sensitive skin! It can be difficult, but finding the right skincare routine makes having the skin you dream of possible!
